Los Angeles based genius Jon Daly felt like the world was sad, and needed cheering up. Loosely (barely) inspired by The Rolling Stones “Start Me Up”, "Cheer Me Up" is a call to action to the uncheered masses. Jon draws you in with his hypnotic clarion call: Cheer ME Up, he says coyly, and as you entertain the thought of cheering him up, you, the listener, are left in a better, more cheered up type of mood. What a ride. Employing synths, drum machines, and a straightforward guitar sound that evokes a tiny, almost microscopic Keith Richards playing a very small Les Paul inside an empty Sprite can, producer Cyrus Ghahremani throws sounds at the wall, and if they stick, he removes them from the wall, and they often end up in the song. Evoking The Stones, Weird Al, and Kidz Bop Classicz, “Cheer Me Up” will cheer you up, even if you are, indeed, “really sad”.
